Electrical Engineer
Job Description
- Serve as an electrical engineer overseeing all phases of project development, including client coordination, pre-design, final design, meetings, site visits, and project management.
- Lead the conceptualization and development of initial electrical designs for diverse project types, with overall responsibility for electrical engineering operations in the Wisconsin office.
- Independently evaluate, select, and adapt standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to meet project-specific needs.
- Demonstrate expertise in consulting and construction practices, including plan/specifications, design/build, and construction management roles.
- Oversee project design progress, coordinating with city, state, county officials, and other external agencies as needed.
- Resolve complex engineering challenges such as conflicting design requirements, unsuitable materials, and coordination difficulties.
- Act as the primary liaison between clients, agencies, subcontractors, and design teams.
- Prepare and organize electrical construction drawings (single-line diagrams, layouts, sections, elevations, and details), technical specifications, contract documents, and cost estimates.
- Participate in contract bidding, administration, and on-site project management.
- Perform electrical systems analysis, including arc flash, short circuit, and coordination studies using power system analysis software.
- Understand power system protection and relaying schemes for electrical distribution systems.

- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required. Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred but not required.
- 3+ years of relevant experience, with flexibility for varying skill levels. Proficiency in AutoCAD and power system analysis software (SKM/ETAP or similar) is preferred.
