Job Description:
As an Electrical Engineer at Sterling Engineering, you will play a pivotal role in the design and development of electrical systems for our cutting-edge machines. You will serve as the primary point of contact for electrical design and configuration, managing project timelines, and ensuring the successful execution of projects. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of tasks, including programming PC and PLCs, troubleshooting, testing, and ensuring compliance with customer specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
Electrical Design and Programming: Design electrical drawings and programs for machines, ensuring they meet project requirements and conform to industry standards.
Bill of Materials (BOM) Management: Enter project BOM demands into Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software to facilitate purchasing and procurement processes.
Collaboration with Mechanical Department: Effectively communicate electrical requirements to the mechanical department to ensure seamless integration of electrical and mechanical systems.
Project Requirements Analysis: Review customer specifications to define project requirements, ensuring a clear understanding of customer needs.
Documentation: Use the machine specification document and checklist as a follow-up document to maintain accurate records and project documentation.
Testing and Troubleshooting: Test every aspect of the machine program for logical functions, troubleshoot any issues, and provide support to the workshop during setup and testing phases.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
2-5 years of experience in machine controls design with a strong electrical and technical background.
Must possess a valid Illinois driver's license.
