Sterling Engineering is looking for an Electrical Design Engineer for a leading manufacturer of automotive electrical components. This is a great company to work for company that has great benefits!
Job Duties:
- Design and develop automotive electronic modules and components based on customer or internal requirements
- Ensure new designs meet customer procedures and specifications
- Oversee the full development cycle, from concept to production implementation
- Assist the Quality Department in analyzing warranty claims and customer returns
- Develop short-term and long-term goals in collaboration with leadership
- Ensure on-time delivery of product development milestones
- Prepare layouts, schematics, and detailed drawings for new products
- Analyze test data to confirm designs meet performance specifications
- Maintain customer engineering contact throughout the program, including technical development and timing
- Work with suppliers for component selection, specifications, and samples
- Research and implement design improvements for existing Nidec Mobility products
- Support and adhere to ISO14001 Environmental Policy requirements
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE)
- 5+ years in electrical design engineering, specifically in automotive switch design
- Expertise in automotive switch electrical design
- Knowledge of LED lighting, microprocessors, voltage regulators, relays, and power electronics
- Experience with schematic capture and BOM generation using Altium
- Proficiency with Mathcad and PSPICE for worst-case analysis
- Familiarity with DFMEA processes
- Power circuit design, component selection, and simulation (LTSpice, PSpice)
- Experience with 8-bit/16-bit microcontrollers and electronics prototype testing
