Job Summary:
- The Senior Manager of Environmental, Health, Safety & Security (EHSS) plays a pivotal role in ensuring regulatory compliance and fostering a safety-conscious culture to minimize risks and costs associated with injuries, property damages, and environmental violations. This position leads efforts to establish and maintain robust safety and security measures, aiming to protect employees, contractors, visitors, and the environment. Job Duties:
- Promote a safety culture with a zero-accident mentality throughout the organization.
- Develop, integrate, and oversee written Environmental and Safety programs, policies, and procedures in compliance with legal and corporate guidelines.
- Manage EHS processes across the company and facilitate employee-led behavior-based safety initiatives.
- Conduct regular environmental and safety audits, identify hazards, and recommend solutions to mitigate risks.
- Ensure timely completion of regulatory and internal reports, forms, and documentation.
- Maintain existing Environmental Compliance programs (PSM, SWPPP, Air, Water, Waste, etc.) in collaboration with Bakery Teams.
- Stay abreast of federal, state, and local regulations to ensure compliance and anticipate future requirements.
- Proactively identify opportunities for improvement in safety and environmental compliance.
- Recruit, train, and manage site EHS personnel and support accident and near-miss investigations.
- Track, analyze, and report safety performance metrics.
- Assist in managing workers' compensation cases with Bakery leadership.
- Ability to travel up to 20% of the time to visit supported bakeries.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in security, safety, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Master’s degree in Occupational Safety or related discipline is advantageous.
- Minimum of 7 years of comprehensive environmental and safety experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment, with a focus on the food industry.
- Relevant certifications (ASP, CSP, CHMM, REM) are desirable.
