Job Title: EHS Director
Location: Romeoville, IL

Pay Rate: $140K-$160K
Travel: Up to 25%
Must have food or beverage manufacturing experience
Responsibilities:
- EHS Strategy Development: Create and manage EHS policies, procedures, and programs that meet regulatory and company standards.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulations; lead audits and inspections.
- Risk Management: Identify workplace hazards, implement safety programs, and conduct incident investigations.
- Training & Awareness: Develop safety training programs and promote safety culture across all facilities.
- Incident Investigation: Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent future incidents.
- Environmental Management: Oversee compliance with environmental regulations and promote sustainability efforts.
- Emergency Preparedness: Create and manage emergency response plans and train staff on procedures.
- Continuous Improvement: Continuously assess and improve EHS performance using metrics and best practices.
- Leadership Collaboration: Partner with leadership and cross-functional teams to align EHS with broader company strategies.
- Safety Leadership: Serve as a safety coach to department heads, driving a culture of safety excellence.
- Workers’ Compensation: Manage claims, track injury statistics, and work with third-party administrators and legal counsel.
- Safety Program Management: Oversee contractor safety programs, safety committees, and annual safety training.
- OSHA Compliance: Ensure timely completion of OSHA requirements, reporting, and accident investigations.
- Safety Audits & Inspections: Conduct regular safety audits and spend 30-50% of time on the manufacturing floor ensuring compliance.
- Process Safety Management (PSM): Collaborate with Maintenance and Refrigeration teams to manage PSM programs.
- Record Keeping: Maintain inspection-ready EHS records and develop injury management strategies.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications:
Required:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in environmental science, occupational health & safety, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 5 years of comprehensive safety experience, preferably in manufacturing or the food industry.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and environmental regulations.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
Preferred:
- OSHA 30: General Industry, Safety and Health Certification.
- Bilingual English/Spanish.
