Job Description
Title: Drafting Specialist
Location: Lake Zurich, IL
Hire Type: Direct hire
Compensation: $35-40/hour

- Create and deliver precise, high-quality 2D and 3D engineering models and drawings on schedule using SolidWorks
- Ensure all required data and file formats are included to support engineering and sales teams.
- Maintain drawing consistency, standardization, version control, and document management practices.
- Develop, support, and implement drafting standards and SolidWorks® best practices, including custom CAD tools and system enhancements.
- Continuously improve SolidWorks® design capabilities and expand industry knowledge through ongoing skill development.
- Complete both directed and self-directed CAD training programs
- Apply creative approaches to CAD visualization and adopt new technologies and methods to improve quality and efficiency.
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Technical communication proficiency
- Planning and project management skills
- Excellent eye for layout design and conceptual development
- Ability to work independently with a proactive sense of urgency
- Experience working within engineering or technical project teams
- Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) practices
- SolidWorks 3D CAD (Required)
- SolidWorks Visualize (Highly Beneficial)
- SolidWorks EPDM (Highly Beneficial)
- Microsoft Office Suite (Required)
- Minimum of 5 years of SolidWorks® experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Some college coursework and/or prior administrative experience preferred
- SolidWorks® certification required
