Location: Chicago, IL 60604 (hybrid schedule)

Job Summary:

  • Generate detailed CAD drawings and models based on specifications from design originators.
  • Research and analyze technical sources like rail equipment manuals and manufacturer catalogs for accurate design implementation.
  • Develop preliminary 2D and 3D designs, incorporating feedback from engineering teams for enhancements.
  • Calculate dimensions, weight limits, and material requirements for rail equipment.
  • Iterate designs to improve functionality and resolve any issues identified during the drafting process.
  • Finalize designs by verifying dimensions, materials, and structural integrity

 Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree in Computer Aided Drafting and Design or relevant field.
  • Minimum of 1 years experience in CAD drafting or equivalent.
  • Hands-on experience with CAD software, preferably with expertise in tools used in rail equipment design.
  • Familiarity with 3D modeling software.
