- $25 to $29/hr for candidates with 2–4 years of experience

Sterling Engineering is seeking a Distribution Engineering Designer for a long-term opportunity with conversion potential in Greenville, SC. This role supports electric utility design work, primarily for DUKE projects, and requires both field and office work.
Job Summary:
The Distribution Engineering Designer will support utility projects by producing electric CAD design drawings and Bills of Material (BOM), conducting field data collection, and attending regular safety meetings. Experience with Duke Energy standards and projects is essential for success in this role.
Job Duties:
- Create CAD electric design drawings and complete Bills of Material.
- Perform on-site field data collection using established tools, methods, and processes.
- Support utility relocation, service drops, subdivision services, and audits of existing services.
- Attend and participate in scheduled safety meetings and maintain a strong safety mindset.
Qualifications:
- Must have experience with DUKE Energy distribution design projects.
- Experience with utility relocations, audits, and service installations.
- Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year ABET-accredited engineering program.
- At least 4 years of relevant experience, with 2+ years in distribution design.
- FE certification can count as 6 months of relevant experience.
- Active PE license may substitute for 2 years of relevant experience (PE is preferred but not required).
- Familiarity with Maximo (Duke’s system).

- Full-time, In-Office
