Job Summary:
  • The Director of Engineering is responsible for leading all engineering functions to support the organization’s vision, growth, and long-term strategy. This role will oversee a multi-disciplinary engineering team, direct capital projects, establish best practices, and ensure compliance with applicable regulations and safety standards.

Job Duties:
  • Set goals and objectives for the engineering department, ensuring alignment with organizational strategy.
  • Oversee capital planning, budgeting, and project execution, including projects valued at $2.5M or more.
  • Drive process improvements, cost reduction initiatives, and implementation of new technologies.
  • Establish and enforce engineering standards, best practices, and technical training programs.
  • Partner with senior leadership and plant management to manage short- and long-term capital plans.
  • Prepare layouts, project proposals, and presentations for executive review and approval.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations at all levels.
  • Provide technical expertise in equipment, building systems, utilities, and infrastructure.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, efficiency, and sustainability.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to support strategic projects and expansion initiatives.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and resource for regulatory and compliance programs.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Process preferred).
  • 8–10 years of progressive leadership experience overseeing an engineering function.
  • Proven track record leading large, complex capital projects with measurable results.
  • Ability to travel 50%-60% within the US
