Job Title: Director of Capital Construction Services
Location: Grand Rapids, MI (with travel to OH, GA, and FL)
Hire Type: 6-month contract to start (may convert to direct)
Target Pay Rate: $75.00/hour

Job Summary:
Seeking a Director of Capital Construction Services to oversee large-scale, multi-state hospital construction and renovation projects, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery with minimal impact to patient care. This senior leadership role provides program-level oversight and serves as the primary liaison between hospital leadership and design and construction partners.
 
Projects May Include:
  • Expansion of an ICU or construction of a new hospital wing
  • Major renovations or infrastructure upgrades to aging healthcare facilities
  • Oversight of multiple concurrent capital projects across different hospitals and states
 
Job Duties:
  • Provide executive-level oversight of major hospital construction and renovation projects across multiple regions
  • Lead projects from early planning and design through construction and final delivery
  • Oversee and coordinate external partners, including architects, engineers, contractors, and consultants
  • Manage capital budgets, schedules, approvals, and risk mitigation strategies
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, safety standards, and operational requirements
  • Act as the primary point of contact between hospital leadership and project teams
  • Maintain alignment across multiple simultaneous projects, driving accountability and consistency
  • Support renovations, expansions, infrastructure upgrades, and new construction initiatives
 
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience leading large-scale healthcare construction programs
  • Comfortable operating at the executive level with hospital leadership and senior stakeholders
  • Strong background owning capital budgets, schedules, and high-impact decisions
  • Experienced in managing complex, multi-site construction portfolios
  • Strategic, big-picture leader with strong communication and decision-making skills
