Title: Die Engineer Manager
Location: Detroit, MI
Hire Type: Direct Hire
Salary: $100-160K/YR
Must have: Experience to hot stamping processes 
 
Job Duties:
  • Uphold the company's mission, vision, and values in daily activities.
  • Contribute key insights to the development of departmental strategic goals and identify measurable metrics to support these goals.
  • Assist the Program Launch team with new tool tryouts and other scheduled activities.
  • Collaborate with other departments to enhance efficiency and throughput.
  • Stabilize processes by identifying root causes of issues and implementing corrective actions.
  • Recommend and assess the feasibility of incorporating new technology. Ensure all quoted and/or released products to the plant are feasible, with achievable rates, crew sizes, and performance metrics.
  • Guide the design, development, and testing of die methods, materials, and processes.
  • Troubleshoot and communicate die concerns to Tool & Die supervisors and/or managers.
  • Interface with customers, contractors, and die build shops as necessary.
  • Determine and document proper processing parameters and assist in auditing them.
  • Prioritize and implement cost reduction projects while maintaining detailed documentation.
  • Lead training activities on die principles and practices for die leaders.
  • Communicate material concerns, such as circle grid and material certification, to the Materials department.

  Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience, Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of eight (8) or more years related technical, hands on experience
  • Background in engineering and building dies.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting and correcting work flow problems.
  • Knowledge of standard quality practices.
  • Computer literacy and good knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
  • Proven leadership ability and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • CAD experience (UG, Catia, AutoCad Desktop etc).
