Die Engineer Manager
Job Description
- Uphold the company's mission, vision, and values in daily activities.
- Contribute key insights to the development of departmental strategic goals and identify measurable metrics to support these goals.
- Assist the Program Launch team with new tool tryouts and other scheduled activities.
- Collaborate with other departments to enhance efficiency and throughput.
- Stabilize processes by identifying root causes of issues and implementing corrective actions.
- Recommend and assess the feasibility of incorporating new technology. Ensure all quoted and/or released products to the plant are feasible, with achievable rates, crew sizes, and performance metrics.
- Guide the design, development, and testing of die methods, materials, and processes.
- Troubleshoot and communicate die concerns to Tool & Die supervisors and/or managers.
- Interface with customers, contractors, and die build shops as necessary.
- Determine and document proper processing parameters and assist in auditing them.
- Prioritize and implement cost reduction projects while maintaining detailed documentation.
- Lead training activities on die principles and practices for die leaders.
- Communicate material concerns, such as circle grid and material certification, to the Materials department.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience, Master’s Degree preferred.
- Minimum of eight (8) or more years related technical, hands on experience
- Background in engineering and building dies.
- Proficient in troubleshooting and correcting work flow problems.
- Knowledge of standard quality practices.
- Computer literacy and good knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
- Proven leadership ability and excellent interpersonal skills.
- CAD experience (UG, Catia, AutoCad Desktop etc).
