Title: Design Technician
Description
Seeking utility design technicians for the creation and construction coordination of gas distribution work.
Office work consists of documentation, digital sketches, customer communication and generating construction material lists for gas distribution systems. Will also be researching and implementing/explaining gas standards. Candidate may perform field investigations and completes designs and cost estimates for the installation, relocation, replacement, and abandonment of gas distribution and transmission facilities.
Candidate will also be setting up site visits. The Design Technician will then use site information and measurements and generate construction prints and supporting documentation. Customer service focus preferred to assist client construction teams with various questions throughout the process and provide consistent updates.
Required Skills & Qualifications
· 1 – 4 years of related utility experience
· High School Graduate, Associate degree or Bachelor’s degree. (Drafting, Applied Physics and Engineering Technology preferred.)
· Basic construction experience
· Reading site plans and electrical plans
· MUST be comfortable with the field
· Reliable transportation required
· Good work history
· Must have interest in the energy/natural gas industry
