Design Engineer
Job Description
- Support product and concept design initiatives for thermoformed and thermo-packaging products
- Design and develop tooling, fixtures, and machine components to support manufacturing processes
- Create detailed 3D models, assemblies, and drawings using SolidWorks
- Collaborate with manufacturing, tooling, and quality teams to ensure designs are manufacturable and cost-effective
- Assist with design iterations, engineering changes, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Participate in prototype development, testing, and design validation activities
- Maintain accurate engineering documentation, BOMs, and revision control
- Support cross-functional teams with technical problem-solving and design optimization
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
- 2–5+ years of design engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
- Thermoforming / thermo-packaging experience
- Proficiency with SolidWorks (3D modeling and detailed drawings)
- Experience with tooling and machine design strongly preferred
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and design-for-manufacturability principles
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments
