Job Description

Title: Design Engineer 1
Location: Rock Hill, SC OR Fort Mill, SC
Type: Direct Hire

• Applies technical knowledge to designs and ensures projects meet specifications
• Communicates challenges with regard to scope, cost, schedule and quality
• Works with Designers and Drafters to complete design packages
• Gains an understanding of CAD programs and the software analysis tools utilized in engineering design
• Supports the preparation of simple designs or small portions of larger projects, including calculations and drawings
• Leads the development of their discipline's design on simple projects, and supports complex projects, including simple technical analyses
• Interacts with clients on a limited basis
• Understands and applies appropriate industry codes, standards, and regulations
• Conducts communications in a professional and clear manner; communications are timely and in an appropriate format for the topic.
• Identifies information to be communicated to the client and project stakeholders through team leads and project managers.
• Self-checks work assignments prior to submitting for review, completes work with minimal errors. Participates in peer reviews and QC reviews.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

§ Bachelor’s degree in engineering from ABET accredited university
§ Knowledge of Computer Aided Design or GIS Design 
Prefer internship experience using MicroStation
§ Strong work ethic with desire to work in a production environment

§ Working knowledge of basic software programs such as Microsoft Office and ArcGIS
§ Skill to use hand-eye coordination, visual (near) acuity and depth perception.
§ Skill to use effective verbal and listening communications.
