Cost Accounting Supervisor
Job Description
Location: Vernon, CA 90058
- Oversee and manage the regional Cost Accounting team, including prioritizing and planning activities.
- Drive process improvements, identify inefficiencies, and implement solutions to enhance team performance.
- Support the Regional Accounting Manager and Finance Business Partners in calculating standards, rates, and cost impacts.
- Manage inventory accounting, including cycle count audits, variance analysis, and proper classification.
- Troubleshoot complex cost model issues, advising on best practices and supporting special costing projects.
- Perform root cause analysis of cost model or financial discrepancies and propose long-term solutions.
- Assist in revenue accounting for both Percentage-of-Completion and Point-in-Time projects.
- Prepare and approve month-end journals and financial reports.
- 5-7 years of relevant cost accounting experience, with supervisory experience leading a team.
- Strong technical accounting skills, including month-end reporting, balance sheet reconciliation, and data analysis in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required; knowledge of SAP, Oracle, or BPC is a plus.
- Experience with project accounting, including reviewing margins and preparing financial reports.
- Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work in decentralized matrix organizations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Knowledge of inventory accounting and material purchasing rate verification.
