Salary: $100,000 - $120,000 per year (based on experience) + Bonus
Our client, a leading provider of custom automation solutions, is actively seeking a Controls Engineer to join their dynamic team in St. Joseph, MI. This role is crucial within the controls department, contributing to the design and implementation of automation systems for industries such as automotive, aerospace, defense, medical equipment, pharmaceutical, and industrial components.
Responsibilities:
Take charge of hardware and software design under the Director of Engineering.
Prepare control system designs using AutoCAD, including power distribution, PLC, panel layouts, pneumatics, hydraulics, and instrumentation.
Write and document control system software.
Collaborate with the Project Manager on budgets, schedules, and timelines.
Provide timely solutions during project build phases.
Facilitate formal and informal training within the Controls Department.
Assist in developing project schedules.
Debug software to ensure system readiness for production.
Participate in the installation phase of the project.
Robotics: FANUC, Epson, Yaskawa, Denso, Kuka, Kawasaki.
Linear Actuators: Intelligent Actuator, Festo, Tolomatic, Rexroth.
Servos: Allen Bradley (Kinetix).
HMI: Allen Bradley (Panelview, Panelview Plus), Siemens (TP, OP Series).
Communications: Allen Bradley (Ethernet I/P, ControlNet), Siemens (Profibus).
Variable Frequency Drives: Allen Bradley (Powerflex), SEW Eurodrive.
Vision: Keyence, Cognex.
Data Acquisition: Ignition.
Robotics: FANUC, Epson, Adept V+, Python, C++.
Servos: Allen Bradley (Kinetix 5000), SEW (Motion Studio).
Application Development: Visual Basic v4.0, v5.0, v6.0, National Instruments.
HMI: Allen Bradley (FactoryTalk Studio), Siemens (TIA Portal).
Communications: Allen Bradley (EtherNet IP, RSLinx), Siemens (Profibus, ControlNet).
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent.
7+ years of controls engineering experience.
At least 3 years of AutoCAD design experience.
