We are a leading provider of automation solutions, committed to delivering cutting-edge technology to enhance the efficiency and productivity of manufacturing processes. Currently, we are seeking a skilled Controls Engineer to join our team on a 3-6 month contract basis in Rolling Meadows, IL. This role offers a competitive hourly rate based on your experience level, ranging from $40 to $50 per hour.
As a Controls Engineer, your primary responsibilities will include:
Developing the architecture of control systems, with a focus on large, multi-machine systems.
Programming PLCs, HMIs, and Robots, especially cam operated and indexing machines, often featuring a substantial number of servo axes.
Guiding electricians on wiring and ensuring compliance with relevant electrical codes.
Debugging and conducting function verification on our production floor, culminating in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT).
Domestic and international travel to assist in machine re-commissioning at customer sites, culminating with Site Acceptance Testing (SAT).
Collaborating with fellow engineers to enhance standards and processes.
A preferred college degree in electrical engineering, engineering-related field, or equivalent experience.
Six (6) years of automation experience, showcasing your expertise in controls engineering.
Proficiency in Allen Bradley PLCs, HMI systems, and Servo Control. GM Standards Experience is a must.
Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, with per diem compensation (candidates are likely to be based in the Detroit area).
Previous experience working on systems where programming has been pre-established in Allen Bradley.
