Job Summary:
  • The Controls Engineer position includes electrical design, PLC/HMI programming, reading and creating control schematics in AutoCAD Electrical, and maintaining and troubleshooting electrical/electronic systems.

Job Duties:
    • Design, build and maintain electrical/electronic systems and equipment:
      • Manufacturing/process equipment
      • Automated conveyor and packaging equipment
      • Robotic cells
      • Industrial communications networks
      • Building HVAC and lighting
    • Design, draft, red-line, maintain, and organize wiring schematics and system drawings.
    • Adjust parameters in machines, VFDs, and servo motors
    • Troubleshoot and adjust PLC and HMI programs.
    • Electrically tune and troubleshoot equipment for proper operation.
    • Assist in the assembly, programming, and installation of equipment as necessary.
    • Provide training to internal personnel as necessary.
    • Clearly and professionally interact with internal personnel and external contractors.

Qualifications:
  • BSEE or BSEET Degree
  • 2-7 years working experience in a related field.
  • Candidate must be familiar with Allen Bradley PLC Programming Software, FactoryTalk View, and AutoCAD
  • AutoCAD Electrical experience with projects and customization a plus
  • Strong candidates will also have experience programming and using:
    • Siemens, B and R, Schneider, Omron, Beckhoff, AutomationDirect controllers
    • Fanuc robots
    • Emerson, VACON, Rockwell, Rexroth VFDs
  • Basic knowledge of food processing plants and good manufacturing practices.
  • Basic knowledge of proper work ergonomics and OSHA requirements for industrial applications.
