Job Description
Overview:
As a Controls Engineer II, you'll play a pivotal role in developing cutting-edge custom automated equipment. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to showcase your expertise in electrical design, programming, and project management, while collaborating with a talented team of professionals.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of control system architectures for small to medium-sized automated machines.
- Program and integrate control systems, robots, vision systems, and various automation components.
- Ensure electrical designs and software architectures are functional, robust, and cost-effective.
- Incorporate industry standards, regulatory requirements, and innovative approaches into designs.
- Research and specify appropriate purchased components and preferred solutions.
- Drive project delivery and budget performance as a key performance indicator.
- Create detailed documentation, including electrical schematics, diagrams, layouts, and bills of materials.
- Participate in design reviews, installations, and service calls as required.
- Guide and mentor junior engineers in project execution.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers and electricians, to problem-solve and debug issues.
- Exhibit objectivity and openness to diverse perspectives while working closely with teams.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 3+ years' experience in manufacturing, capital equipment engineering, or automation.
- Strong electrical knowledge and proficient in PLC programming.
- Knowledge of robotics, synchronous, and asynchronous systems is a plus.
- Hands-on approach and ability to meet project deadlines.
- Work within project schedules and budgets.
- Participate in a team environment where your will be responsible for attending Project Execution Plan meetings and developing control engineering execution plans.
