About The Company:

Sterling Engineering is currently working with a long time client of ours on bringing in a Controls Engineer to join their team. This will be a long-time contract, ranging from 6 months to 1 year. Pay Rate between $50-60k per hour, benefits and PTO are included in the role as well. This is a great opportunity to get some experience with a large research organization. 

Overview of Controls Engineer Role:

Designs, develops, tests and verifies complex electrical, electronic and software systems and components. Component of a system will include PLCs, HMIs, and discrete I/O devices and may include analog sensors for air pressure, water flow, vacuum, and temperature.
 
Designs, develops, and maintains primarily PLC-based mission-critical safety interlock systems for the APS accelerators and beamlines. Works as an effective member of a team, working closely with other software and hardware engineers, APS beamline staff and users, and other APS personnel involved in associated activities.

Qualification:

  • Bachelors Strongly Preferred 
  • At least 2 years of experience in a controls engineering/PLC based role 
  • Must have 2 years experience dealing in PLC schematics
