Job Description
Job Title: Controls Design Engineer III
Pay Range: $110-$150k per year depending on experience.
Objective: Develop electrical designs for automated equipment and maintain departmental standards for electrical design.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop functional, cost-effective, and robust electrical schematics under the guidance of Controls Engineers or Controls Engineering Lead.
- Research and specify appropriate purchased and preferred components.
- Create electrical wiring schematics, flow diagrams, panel layouts, bill of materials, organize release packages, and update schematics.
- Participate in design reviews, installations, and service calls.
- Problem-solve with Mechanical Builders and Electricians, debug software issues, and update all appropriate documentation.
- Learn how to incorporate company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Help mentor Level I and II Design Engineers and new hires.
Requirements:
- 2- or 4-year diploma or degree specializing in Electrical Engineering.
- 1-2 years of electrical experience, automation experience preferred.
- Ability to communicate efficiently and effectively with people at all levels of the organization, both verbally and in written form.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and guidance in a team-oriented work environment.
- Computer knowledgeable with programs such as Windows, Excel, Word, MS Outlook, Adobe, etc.
- Capable of wearing appropriate related PPE for extended periods of time.
Physical Demands: Standing, walking, pushing, pulling, reaching overhead, and bending to the floor. Exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or exert up to 10 pounds of force frequently. Normal requirements for reading written instructions and computer screens. Normal requirements for understanding verbal instructions. Subject to a normal office environment with occasional exposure to high noise levels and/or physical hazards when visiting manufacturing floor.
