Job Summary:

Job Duties:

    Hold expert knowledge of industry standard design software (AutoCAD family of products) and apply best
    practices to project requirements as needed.
    Responsible for ensuring that the company is current on the latest industry technology and using the best tools
    available for each application. Senior designer should make recommendations to the company when necessary.
    Under direction from the Project Manager or Lead Engineers, may be required to maintain communications and
    coordinate with clients to resolve project questions, such as design requirements, and standards.
    Ensure suitable communication/updates are being provided by the design team to internal and external clients
    on project status.
    Train, coach, or mentor as appropriate including researching and coordinating training for the design family.
    Recommend policies and procedures and ensures that Company policies are clearly communicated to the design
    team.
    Adhere to and enforce company and industry design and drafting standards.
    Reviewing the work of other Designers and/or Drafters for accuracy and adherence to standards.
    Work with the Drafting & Design (D&D) Coordinator and Human Resources Coordinator to hire new design talent
    and conduct performance reviews with existing employees.
    Report escalation of any issues to the Principals where necessary.
    Review with the Principals all project design changes, pending or anticipated alterations to the contract, extra
    work requests, and all other factors which may significantly affect manpower requirements.
    Review work in progress by other team members and/or outside consultants to ensure that it is being performed
    satisfactorily.
    Compile and prepare information requested by the Principals to determine if the work is in accordance with the
    requirements of the contract, on schedule, etc.
    Establish drafting criteria and procedure for each assigned project consistent with Company standards.
    Review drafting personnel needs and reports such to the Principals in a timely fashion so that assignment of
    drafting personnel can be accomplished in a manner which meets both project and division goals.
    Assist engineering and project management staff with day to day project functions, as needed, including
    researching product specifications, contacting vendors, and other support functions as needed.
    Assists D&D Coordinator with updates, revisions and maintenance of drafting & design standards.
    Although not the primary responsibility of this position, when needed, a Senior Designer has the ability to
    perform the responsibilities identified in the Designer job description.
    Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:
  • Technical degree or certificate of completion from an accredited designer/drafter curriculum; Associate of Arts
    and Science preferred.
    Five or more years of experience developing design processes and inspiring innovative approaches.
    Demonstrated proficiency in AutoCAD, CADWorx &/or Plant 3D, and Civil 3D.
    Experience with other 3D software such as Revit is a plus.
