Civil Engineer

Overview:

Sterling Engineering has partnered with a architectural firm that focuses on wastewater management on bringing in a Civil Engineer to join their growing team. This is a great opportunity for an early career Civil Engineer to get involved in a cross functional role. Person must be local to New Berlin OR Northern Chicagoland suburbs, no relocation involved.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Working in the field, ensuring construction projects are built according to plans and specifications, including observing construction and confirming quantities in contractors’ payment applications
• Acting as resident project representative to ensure quality on construction site
• Assist with design and specifications for civil and municipal utility projects
• Assisting Project Managers in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and cost estimating, obtaining appropriate permitting
• Creating construction drawings and specifications and investigation/condition reports
• Surveying and erosion control inspection experience is a plus

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum 1 years’ experience in design/construction oversight
• Excellent communication and technical skills to work well with all departments across our organization and to develop and maintain effective client relationships
• B.S. degree in Civil Engineering is desirable, but will train the right applicant
• Licensed Wisconsin PE or EIT, or desire to obtain
• Working knowledge with Microsoft Office Suite; Civil 3D and ArcGIS is desired
