Sterling Engineering has partnered with a massive, government-funded client looking to bring in a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to revolutionize and transform their finance and accounting team. Job Title: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Location: Western Chicagoland Suburbs

Salary: $200,000 - $275,000

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee all financial operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and maintaining the highest standards of financial management.
  • Develop and implement financial strategies, policies, and procedures to optimize the organization’s financial health.
  • Prepare and present accurate, timely financial reports to senior leadership and stakeholders, providing insights into the organization’s financial performance.
  • Lead budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Manage cash flow, investments, and financial risk, advising the leadership team on financial decisions.
  • Supervise the finance and accounting departments, providing leadership, mentorship, and support to the team.
  • Oversee audit processes and ensure proper controls are in place to safeguard the organization’s assets.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve financial efficiency.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with external partners, including auditors, regulatory agencies, and financial institutions.
  • Serve as the primary financial advisor to the leadership team, helping to guide strategic initiatives and decisions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) designation preferred.
  • Proven experience in government or university financial management.
