Job Description
- Reviewing and understanding formulas or recipes to determine the types and quantities of chemicals required for compounding.
- Gathering and measuring the necessary raw materials.
- Mixing and Blending: Operating blending equipment, such as mixers, reactors, or tanks, to combine chemicals accurately. Following specific procedures to ensure precise mixing and achieving desired chemical reactions.
- Conducting quality checks throughout the compounding process, such as measuring and testing the physical properties, pH, viscosity, or concentration of the compounded chemicals. Ensuring compliance with quality standards and specifications.
- Adhering to safety protocols, including handling hazardous chemicals, wearing personal protective equipment (PPE), and following proper storage and labeling procedures.
- Complying with relevant regulations, such as Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) or Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines.
- Cleaning and maintaining compounding equipment to ensure proper functioning and prevent contamination or cross-contamination. Troubleshooting equipment issues and performing routine maintenance tasks.
- Maintaining accurate records of ingredients used, batch numbers, lot numbers, and compounding processes. Documenting any deviations or adjustments made during the compounding process.
- Collaborating with other team members, such as chemists, lab technicians, or production supervisors, to ensure smooth operations and efficient communication. Reporting any issues or concerns related to compounding processes or product quality.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent experience
- Experience in compounding, chemical mixing or blending
