Job Summary:
The Calibration Technician is responsible for calibrating, maintaining, and troubleshooting a variety of analytical laboratory instruments. This role ensures that all instruments are operating within established specifications and compliance standards, thereby supporting the accuracy and reliability of laboratory results.
 
Job Duties:
  • Perform routine and non-routine calibration of analytical instruments such as HPLC, GC, mass spectrometers, spectrophotometers, pH meters, and other laboratory equipment.
  • Develop and implement calibration procedures and schedules in accordance with manufacturer specifications and regulatory guidelines.
  • Maintain detailed calibration records, including certificates of calibration, calibration data, and any corrective actions taken.
  • Troubleshoot and repair analytical instruments as needed to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with laboratory staff to schedule calibrations and address any instrument-related issues.
  • Conduct regular maintenance and performance checks on instruments to identify potential issues before they impact laboratory operations.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO/IEC 17025, FDA, GMP, and other relevant standards and regulations.
  • Assist in the development and validation of new calibration methods and procedures.
  • Participate in internal and external audits related to instrument calibration and maintenance.
  • Provide training and support to laboratory personnel on the proper use and care of analytical instruments.
 
Qualifications:
  • Associate’s degree in Electronics, Instrumentation, or a related field. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in calibration and maintenance of analytical laboratory instruments.
  • Strong knowledge of calibration techniques, methods, and industry standards.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements, including ISO/IEC 17025, FDA, and GMP.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Proficient in using calibration management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
