Calibration Technician
Job Description
- Performs calibrations on products and measurement instruments.
- Quantifies sources of measurement error and determines measurement uncertainty with Test Uncertainty Ratios (TUR's).
- Prepares calibration reports which detail methods, measurement data with uncertainties, TUR’s, and National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) traceable standards.
- Communicates with customers to resolve “technical” contract disputes or issues.
- Assists customers with measurement and NIST traceability questions.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or Higher Education from an accredited higher learning institution required.
- 2+ years of Metrology and/or Instrument Calibration experience.
- Must possess practical knowledge of Metrology and measurement practices.
- Must have analytical skills to identify sources of measurement errors and to read and interpret technical schematics, specifications, and calibration procedures.
