Job Summary:
The Calibration Technician will have experience working with equipment that generates and distributes forces such as electricity, steam, climate-controlled air, gas, and water that is used in a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility. The technician will do basic repairs and perform calibrations of the equipment’s instruments that measure pressure, temperature, time, force, torque, speed, flow, electric current, voltage, and other characteristics.

Job Duties:
  • Will calibrate measurement sensors and instruments, as well as perform basic repairs and maintenance on generation and distribution equipment.
  • Generation and distribution equipment include: Steam generators, chillers, boilers, compressed air systems, HVAC systems, power distribution systems, emergence power generators, water distribution systems, gas distribution systems, and backup systems such as uninterruptible power supply units.
  • Will interface with Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering departments, as well as suppliers and third-party contractor firms.
  • Will work hands-on with various types of equipment in a manufacturing plant environment.
  • Additional duties as required.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2 years of metrology / calibration experience.
  • Must possess practical knowledge of metrology and measurement practices.
  • Must possess knowledge of related quality systems and practices (i.e. ISO 17025, ANSI/Z540-1).
  • Must have analytical skills to identify sources of measurement error and to read and interpret technical schematics, specifications, and calibration procedures.
  • Must understand basic equipment repair and be physically capable of working hands-on with large industrial equipment, both indoors and outdoors.
