- 1st Shift: Monday-Friday, some Saturdays for OT
- 2nd Shift: Monday-Friday, some Saturdays for OT
- 3rd Shift: Sunday-Thursday, some Fridays for OT

A machinist is responsible for a variety of machine-specific functions from setting-up equipment, loading materials and operating machinery, to monitoring and optimizing efficiency, maintaining machines and performing quality checks. A machinist will typically have the knowledge and ability to operate and maintain several machines.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operates various machines as part of the production process to produce parts for heavy machinery industry in accordance with standards, customer specifications, company guidelines and checklists. Perform all duties and responsibilities in compliance with safety policies
- Operate manual machines including horizontal mills, engine lathes, and manual grinders to produce heavy machinery parts and axles
- Use precision gauges and instruments such as micrometers to determine and follow customers specifications
- Maintain specifications by observing, drilling, grooving and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes
- Operate overhead cranes and forklifts
Advanced Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain specifications by observing, drilling, grooving and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes
- Troubleshoot and repair various machines
- Train other employees
Preferred Skills (not mandatory):
- Possess high level of machining aptitude
- Read and interpret blueprints and drawings
Physical Activities Functions:
- Position requires lifting of 25lbs- 35lbs
- Position requires standing majority of the day. Frequent walking, squatting, kneeling, and climbing of steps and stairs
- Vision/Hearing Requirements – Position is exposed to high levels of noise and vibration from using tools. Position is exposed to cutting torches and welding operations. The use of proper PPE is required. The Position requires the ability to read QWI and schematics and understand instructions
- State of the art facility, temperature controlled
