CMM Programmer (1st shift)

Job Description
- Operate the CMM safely while analyzing products and meeting production targets set by the supervisor.
- Perform part measurements and inspections using CMMs, manual tools, or other methods to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Program the CMM for new parts and processes to ensure quality during setup, in-process, and final inspections.
- Train alternate operators on CMM operation when necessary.
- Save and manage CMM programs on the server for future use.
- Support production personnel by addressing inspection needs and providing guidance.
- Train programmers, setup personnel, and operators in inspection methodologies as needed.
- Lead and collaborate with team members to ensure quality products and efficient workflows.
- Report maintenance issues to the Maintenance Manager or Director of Quality promptly.
- Continuously seek improvements in processes and performance, contributing to the effectiveness of the QMS.
- Collaborate with programmers and setup personnel to troubleshoot technical issues.
- Maintain accurate documentation of inspection plans, FAI documents, routers, CMM programs, and ERP system entries to ensure traceability and quality records.
- Keep the work area clean and organized while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Communicate production, safety, or quality concerns to the supervisor.
- Use calibrated measuring equipment exclusively, addressing calibration issues immediately when identified.
- Handle inspection equipment, machines, and parts with care to prevent damage or deterioration.
- Assist with additional duties as needed, including cleaning, gage management, and in-process inspections, during periods of reduced workload or when other departments require support.
- Adhere to quality policies, procedures, safety standards, and ethical practices, contributing to product conformance and organizational objectives.
Qualifications:
- Ability to read and interpret customer drawings, parts lists, and ECOs, including proficiency in GD&T.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience operating, programming, and maintaining a CMM.
- At least 3 years of experience using, calibrating, and setting up manual inspection tools, including bore gages, micrometers, dial indicators, height gages, thread and pin gages, microscopes, profilometers, optical comparators, and Rockwell hardness testers.
