Continuous Improvement Manager
Location: Gran Forks, ND 58203
Salary: Targeting $90-$125K Max w/ 10% bonus potential

Job Summary:
As the Continuous Improvement (CI) Manager, you will drive the implementation of the CI vision, supporting strategic planning and performance improvement objectives. You will mentor and coach employees on lean methodologies, root-cause analysis, and waste reduction to achieve sustainable improvements in safety, quality, delivery, cost, and growth. This role also includes coordinating the training and development of all team members to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
As the Continuous Improvement (CI) Manager, you will drive the implementation of the CI vision, supporting strategic planning and performance improvement objectives. You will mentor and coach employees on lean methodologies, root-cause analysis, and waste reduction to achieve sustainable improvements in safety, quality, delivery, cost, and growth. This role also includes coordinating the training and development of all team members to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and implement the CI process, promoting Lean principles to help meet plant performance targets and financial goals.
- Identify and define the scope of CI projects, serving as the primary owner and coordinator.
- Utilize data and observational analysis to identify efficiency opportunities, collaborating closely with technical resources to implement best practices.
- Teach and model root cause analysis and structured problem-solving to eliminate inefficiencies and waste, positioning yourself as an expert in these areas.
- Participate in Lean events, applying CI methodologies and promoting skill transfer within the team.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in our Management Operating Structure, sitting on the site's Steering Team as a strategic resource.
- Coach and guide cross-functional teams to resolve assigned projects, focusing on breakthrough and incremental improvements in process and performance.
- Monitor metrics to identify waste areas and prioritize solutions for implementation.
- Communicate project updates and provide appropriate documentation to Operations leadership.
- Foster effective collaboration with departments and individuals affected by CI projects.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Expertise in Lean Manufacturing/Continuous Improvement methodologies with proven ability to teach and apply these concepts.
- Strong experience in leading high-value, complex cost-savings projects from ideation to completion.
- Ability to develop long-term improvement strategies to meet annual business plans.
- Excellent analytical skills, including financial interpretation and performance analysis.
- Strong leadership skills, with a focus on mentorship and achieving results through influence.
- Effective communicator who can inspire morale, set aggressive targets, and find solutions to complex problems.
- Ability to organize projects, facilitate cross-functional teams, and provide constructive feedback.
- Demonstrated passion for safety and ability to maintain a respectful and safe work environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field with three or more years of relevant experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Previous management experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of SAP and prior experience in a food manufacturing environment are highly preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
