Job Summary:
The Business Analytics & Financial Reporting team is seeking a Data Analyst, who will be responsible for building and enhancing business intelligence tools to provide key insights to the Southern Company Gas Engineering & Construction organization. In this fast-paced role, they will leverage their technical skills to compile data sets, create robust data models, automate processes, and build visualizations.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Analyze large volumes of data including multiple databases and tables
  • Develop and maintain dashboards to communicate insights to the business
  • Conduct data research; identify and resolve discrepancies
  • Identify data quality issues; develop and implement solutions
  • Conduct ad hoc analysis
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work on a team and independently
  • Working knowledge of data models and ETL processes
  • 3+ years of experience writing SQL queries using joins and unions (Oracle SQL Server and SQL Server Management Studio)
  • Extensive experience using business intelligence and data visualization tools, including Power BI and Power Query
  • Some knowledge of Python is preferred
