Title: Building Maintenance Engineer
Location: Chicago, IL
Employment type: Direct Hire
Pay Rate: $85K-$115K plus Bonus 5 or 10%
Job Summary:
You will play a crucial role in coordinating the building automation system and working closely with HVAC and electrical maintenance personnel. Your expertise in controls troubleshooting and electrical control diagrams will be essential for the role.
Responsibilities Include:
- Oversight of Building Automation: Manage and oversee the building automation system, ensuring its efficient operation.
- Programming: Learn and apply programming to the building automation system.
- HVAC: repair experience of HVAC systems
- Coordination with Controls Technicians: Collaborate with controls technicians to schedule maintenance and programming tasks.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation and track changes to the building automation system.
- Monitoring and Maintenance: Continuously monitor setpoints and trends to ensure the efficient and reliable operation of HVAC and process systems.
- Preventive Maintenance: Track scheduled preventive maintenance tasks, diagnose and resolve reliability issues, and coordinate with external contractors when needed.
- Electrical Control Schematics: Review and provide feedback on electrical control schematics and drawings.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Technical competence in navigating, programming and troubleshooting building automation software.
- Extensive experience with HVAC equipment, including electro/pneumatic controls, steam systems, DX units, pumps, cooling towers, fan coil units, VAVs, air distribution, chillers, condensers, etc.
- Experience related to building design & construction projects, plant rearrangement/remodel projects, and electrical systems.
- High School diploma or GED; B.S. in an Engineering discipline preferred.
- Previous experience in a maintenance/engineering technician role.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
