Job Description

Title: Automation Technician
Location: Elkhart, IN
Hire Type: Contract to Hire
Salary: $27-$35/hr
 
Job Duties:
  • Assist with items such as the assembly of electrical cabinets, termination of wires, routing cables, and installing components (sensors, etc.) within a work cell. 
  • Ability to read and follow electrical schematics. The candidate should be able to follow callouts on electrical schematics. 
  • Performance of basic mechanical assembly of components and assemblies. Assist in the assembly and installation of mechanical components such as mounting plates, brackets, work cell subassemblies, robotic end-of-arm tooling, and machine guarding. 
  • Read and follow basic mechanical drawings in the execution of equipment build and assembly. Candidate would be able to read basic mechanical part drawings as well as mechanical assembly drawings.
  • Works closely with internal cross-functional teams, contractors, suppliers, and outside vendors to achieve desired results.
  • Work as part of a functional team under the direction of the assigned project manager in the timely execution of projects. Includes providing status updates for assigned tasks and activities.
  • Develop and refine skills related to robotics, controls, safety systems to support both project execution and training of operational staff.


  Qualifications:
  • Solid experience in hands-on engineering and fabrication. 
  • Possessing the ability to perform electrical troubleshooting on AC and DC circuits. 
  • Ability to edit or program electrical devices requiring proprietary software such as PLC’s, HMI’s, robots, safety controllers, etc....
