Location: Itasca, IL
Shift: 1st Shift( 6:45AM-3PM)
Hire Type: Contract to Hire
Pay: $25-35/hr. (based on experience) 

Sterling Engineering is looking for an Automation Technician for a leading rigid plastic manufacturer in Itasca, IL  . This opportunity is with with a company the provides phenomenal benefits! 

Job Duties: 
  • Conducts, maintains, tests, and repairs electrical/electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems and components.  
  • Diagnoses and troubleshoots equipment issues.
  • Develops and implements preventative and predictive maintenance plans.
  • Manages repair and overhaul processes.
  • Designs and integrates automated quality inspection systems.
  • Provides hands-on technical assistance.
  • Troubleshoots pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and programming issues.
  • Identifies and interacts with vendors for equipment replacement or improvement.
  • Works on new product/equipment installations and commissioning.
  • Develops training materials and work instructions.
Qualifications: 
  • AAS in Electrical or Computer Technology or 5 years of manufacturing experience in controls/automation.
  • Proficiency in PLC programming (Allen Bradley, Siemens, Wonderware).
  • Experience with HMI touch screen applications and programming.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
