Salary: $90k-$105k/hr. ( Based on experience)

Sterling Engineering is looking for an Automation Engineer for a growing manufacturer in Merced, CA that is building out new product lines and breaking innovative barriers in the packaging space. - Analyze automation systems using PLC software and other company-provided tools.
- Design, develop, and improve automation systems.
- Test, debug, and integrate automation systems with existing factory hardware.
- Write and update system documentation, providing user training.
- Ensure automation activities comply with regulatory standards.
- Identify automation opportunities and develop specifications for new systems.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot automation issues.
- Work with cross-functional teams to improve processes and ensure quality.
- Develop and implement safety and quality control procedures.
- Stay updated on industry trends and new automation technologies.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in full-cycle PLC software development.
- Experience with Allen-Bradley or Siemens PLCs is a plus.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Minitab, SolidWorks, or related software.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office and Project Management software preferred.
- Experience with LEAN, Six Sigma, or Green Belt certification is a plus.
