Job Summary:
- This exciting opportunity for an Automation Engineer, reporting to our Director of Operations and Engineering, will spearhead the development, engineering, and implementation of Automation projects and systems. The core focus is on optimizing manufacturing processes and reducing labor requirements through automation.
Job Duties:
- Design and implement industrial automation systems, incorporating robotics to enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify automation needs and formulate effective solutions.
- Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses for automation projects.
- Program and configure PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) and HMIs (Human Machine Interfaces) for automated processes.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with automation systems, encompassing hardware and software components.
- Ensure regular maintenance and upgrades of automation systems to uphold optimal performance.
- Develop and implement safety protocols and procedures for automated processes.
- Provide training and technical support to operators and maintenance personnel on automation systems.
- Monitor and analyze data from automation systems to identify areas for improvement and optimize performance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a mechanical or electrical engineering discipline preferred.
- Strong knowledge of industrial automation systems and technologies.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as PLC, SCADA, and HMI.
- Experience in designing and implementing automation solutions for manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of plant controls and instrumentation (integration).
- 5-7+ years of experience in automation in a manufacturing environment.
