Title: Automation Design Engineer (Mechanical) 

Salary Range: $85k - $100k (based on experience) 

Location: Madison, WI 

Hire Type: Direct Hire

Work Type: Onsite

Job Duties:
  • Innovate automation design by developing custom systems that seamlessly integrate mechanical components, machinery, and tailored solutions to meet diverse client needs.
  • Lead all phases of automation projects, from planning and execution to monitoring and closure, ensuring the project stays within scope, on schedule, and within budget.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams, clients, and key stakeholders to define project requirements, technical specifications, and deliverables.
  • Conduct technical analysis, simulations, and testing to ensure system reliability, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards.
  • Oversee the procurement of materials, equipment, and third-party services, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness throughout the project.
  • Work closely with manufacturing, electrical, and software teams to align mechanical designs with control systems and automation software.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers and team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Prepare detailed project documentation, including design drawings, technical reports, and user manuals to support project success and knowledge sharing.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks, resolving issues quickly to ensure steady progress and maintain high levels of client satisfaction.
  • Ensure all projects adhere to safety regulations, quality standards, and environmental guidelines, maintaining excellence in automation engineering.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in mechanical design, automation, or manufacturing engineering.
