Title: Assembly Manager
Location: Elk Grove Village, Illinois
Shift : 1st shift
Compensation:$95-110k.

Job Duties: 

 Assembly Manager

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of five assembly technicians.
• Oversee the daily operations of the assembly and fabrication departments.
• Remain hands-on by supporting equipment assembly, troubleshooting, and complex machine builds approximately 25% of the time.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Purchasing, and Production to ensure materials, drawings, and resources are available.
• Monitor workflow, staffing, and production progress to maximize efficiency.
• Review mechanical drawings, bills of materials, and work instructions for accuracy before production.

• Hands-on leadership role with the ability to make an immediate impact.
• Lead a skilled team while remaining actively involved in machine builds.
• Work on custom automation and industrial equipment—not repetitive production assembly.
• Collaborative environment where engineering, fabrication, and assembly work closely together.

• Experience building custom automation equipment, industrial machinery, or engineered-to-order systems.
• Mechanical and electrical assembly experience, with electrical troubleshooting experience highly preferred.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement principles.
• Welding or fabrication experience is a plus.
• Experience using ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office.
• Forklift certification or willingness to become certified.
