Job Description

Title: Architect
Location: Waukegan, IL or Columbus, OH
Travel: Up to 25%
Contract Length: 2+ years (2-year minimum)

The Architect is responsible for designing and planning facilities that meet regulatory standards, ensure production efficiency, and prioritize safety and security. They collaborate with a range of experts, considering environmental sustainability and project management aspects to create nutritional manufacturing facilities that adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and facilitate the production of nutritional products. A strong background in FDA compliance, food production facilities, quality standards, and hygiene regulations is required.

Responsibilities:
  • Reliable, completes assignments, and meets deadlines with accuracy and completeness
  • Follows and gives clear instructions and takes direction from supervisor
  • Well organized, able to retain knowledge for future use

  • Assist Project Manager
  • Good attention to detail
  • Coordinate with outside project consultants; civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing disciplines
  • Conduct code and permitting research
  • Attend site surveys and prepare survey drawings and reports
  • Create equipment lists to identify space requirements
  • Prepare design development presentation drawings
  • Participate in design reviews
Required:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture
  • Minimum 10years of architectural experience, with a strong emphasis on food production facilities.
  • Member of AIAA
  • 2 years minimum commitment
Preferred:
  • Strong understanding of regulations, including GMP and FDA guidelines.
  • 10-15 years of architectural experience, with a strong emphasis on food production facilities.
  • A valid architectural license
