Position Overview:
As an Applications Engineer, you will play a crucial role in supporting our sales processes by creating layouts, budgets, and proposals for our state-of-the-art equipment. You will collaborate with various teams to ensure accurate proposals, effective communication, and successful project outcomes. This role requires a deep understanding of engineering techniques, excellent presentation skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities:
Supporting Sales Processes:
Efficiently create and maintain proposals for our equipment.
Adhere to proposal format standards established by our global teams.
Collaborate closely with vendors, customers, and international sales departments.
Meet customer proposal deadlines with innovative equipment solutions.
Apply engineering methods to accurately quote projects.
Utilize budgeting and spreadsheet skills, 2 & 3-dimensional drawing skills, and AutoCAD proficiency.
Express concepts clearly in written proposals.
Conduct cycle time studies, cost comparisons, and prepare detailed quotations.
Skillfully communicate concepts to internal teams and customers.
Display preparedness and organization during customer interactions.
Employ a systematic approach to problem-solving with customers.
Collaborate closely with sales and other engineers to propose credible solutions.
Meet deadlines on projects dependent on others.
Apply past experiences to minimize risks.
Work closely with customers to ensure accurate proposals and mitigate risks.
Proactively address customer concerns and maintain satisfactory communication.
Ensure the operations group is aligned with proposal documentation.
Aim for a successful and profitable project outcome.
Take on additional responsibilities as assigned.
Formal Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Job Experience: Minimum of 5 years' experience in material handling applications.
Skills: Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
You will be responsible for cultivating new customer relationships while nurturing existing ones.
