Aftermarket Parts Technician
Job Description
Location: Downers Grove, IL
Employment Type: Direct Hire
Salary: $50,000 - $65,000 per year (Depending on Experience)
Responsibilities:
As an After Market Parts Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the timely delivery of parts and assemblies to customers and internal departments.
Receiving parts and assembly requests from customers and internal departments.
Receiving drawing/ID requests from customers and internal departments.
Determining the appropriate components and sub-assemblies for specific customer sites.
Estimating prices and delivery times for the required components and sub-assemblies.
Monitoring the progress of parts and sub-assemblies currently on order.
Expediting work in progress (WIP) when necessary to meet customer requirements and repricing if expedited fees are appropriate.
Assisting the Parts Receiving Group in quality control efforts for parts orders.
Receiving and reviewing mechanical parts lists from the Engineering Department.
Creating and confirming initial parts offering pricing for customers.
Forwarding reviewed parts lists to the Project Management Group or the customer as appropriate.
To succeed in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
Ability to read CAD drawings, with a basic understanding of tolerancing and finishes.
Good knowledge of manufacturing procedures, including welding/fabrication, machining/turning, and surface treatments such as chrome plating.
Strong interpersonal skills for effective technical communication, customer communication, and inter-office communication.
Ideally, some basic understanding of Converting Line Machinery.
