Job Summary:
- A leading manufacturing organization is seeking a Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician to support the reliability and performance of production and facility equipment. This role is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a variety of electrical, mechanical, and automated systems used in a high-volume production environment.
The technician will work across multiple disciplines including electrical systems, automation, mechanical components, and facility utilities to ensure safe and efficient plant operations. The position requires strong troubleshooting abilities, hands-on maintenance expertise, and a commitment to safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
Job Duties:
- Perform both emergency and planned maintenance on production equipment to minimize downtime and maintain operational efficiency.
- Troubleshoot, maintain, and support PLC-based control systems, including programming adjustments when necessary. Coordinate with additional maintenance staff when complex repairs are required.
- Inspect, test, and maintain electrical distribution systems, including lighting, signal, communication, and power circuits. Identify and repair issues with transformers, motors, wiring, and related components.
- Diagnose and repair issues with mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electromechanical equipment, including production and packaging machinery.
- Install, modify, and maintain electrical and mechanical systems, replacing worn or defective components such as switches, gears, brushes, or wiring.
- Disassemble and repair electrical machinery and mechanical assemblies to restore functionality and performance.
- Conduct preventive maintenance activities and perform equipment changeovers to support production needs.
- Support facility operations by assisting with repairs or maintenance tasks related to building systems and sanitation equipment as required.
- Prepare equipment and work areas for external contractors or specialized trades when necessary.
- Maintain organized workspaces and participate in daily cleanup and housekeeping activities.
- Follow all GMP, food safety, quality, and safety procedures, promptly reporting any issues or hazards to management.
- Collaborate effectively with operations and maintenance teams to ensure efficient workflow and safe plant conditions.
- Be available for schedule adjustments, weekend work, and emergency call-outs based on plant operational needs.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree or technical training in electrical, mechanical, industrial maintenance, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Minimum 5 years of maintenance experience supporting industrial or manufacturing equipment.
- Proven experience with:
- PLC systems including installation, troubleshooting, and basic programming.
- HMIs, touchscreens, and industrial control interfaces.
- Electric motors, VFDs, and motor control systems.
- Facility electrical infrastructure and lighting systems (high and low voltage).
- Industrial refrigeration and HVAC systems.
- High- and low-pressure boiler systems including operation and maintenance.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, and diagrams.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities in situations with limited standardization.
- Solid understanding of electrical and electronic safety practices.
- Strong math skills and ability to interpret technical documentation.
- Ability to clearly communicate technical information verbally and in writing.
- Fluency in English (reading, writing, and speaking).
