Engineering Manager
Job Description
- Makes specific personnel assignments to support completion of programs, e.g. technical studies, preparation of specifications and technical plans, product design, and testing, etc.
- Ensures product conformance to sound engineering principles and practice, applicable industry, government, and customer requirements and related specifications; demonstrates same by detailed analysis and/or test as required.
- Keeps abreast of the latest technology developments to ensure the company sees available opportunities for technical improvements in products and services, and/or cost reductions.
- Evaluates and approves proposed design changes, specifications, and drawing releases.
- Evaluates tools and techniques for applicability to engineering department function, makes recommendations and justifies expenditures for tools, equipment and training to improve department operation and efficiency, e.g. computer hardware/software, test equipment, and personnel training.
- Assists other members of the leadership team in preparation of department budgets, and controls expenditures within budget limits.
- Prepares and presents periodic progress and special reports as required.
- Develop, implement and maintain formalized project scheduling and control procedures for engineering projects.
Qualifications:
- BS, Mechanical Engineering minimum
- 7+ years of engineering design experience
- Solid understanding of engineering mechanics, fluid management and pneumatics
- 3D/CAD Solid Modeling - CREO with Windchill is preferred
- Understanding of valve design
- Experience in all aspects of product development from prototype through production
- Experience interfacing with customers
- Able to develop project scopes and timelines
