Job Summary:
- We are seeking a skilled Metal Fabricator with expertise in working with stainless steel to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating and assembling structural metal products, such as machinery frameworks, shells, ovens, tanks, and other equipment required for the food industry. Your tasks will include studying mechanical drawings, following layout plans, and organizing the sequence of operations accordingly. Proficiency in Mig and Tig welding is essential. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the plant's equipment, buildings, and facilities, providing technical troubleshooting skills in areas such as maintenance, electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic engineering. Working under the guidance of the Maintenance Manager, you will ensure strict adherence to maintenance schedules.
Job Duties:
- Carry out assigned responsibilities as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor, Maintenance Manager, or their designee.
- Assist in performing preventive maintenance tasks to ensure the equipment remains in optimal working condition. Actively participate in preventative maintenance programs, adhere to daily plant fundamentals, and strictly follow all safety procedures. Respond promptly to maintenance emergencies as needed.
- Possess knowledge of electrical installation and demonstrate proficiency in troubleshooting PLC, VFD, and 3-phase electrical systems. Capable of troubleshooting and repairing lighting circuits.
- Assist in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and plumbing systems.
- Assist in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment (HVAC/R).
- Aid in major equipment overhauls, providing valuable support during the process.
- Exhibit mechanical and spatial aptitude, including the ability to disassemble and reassemble equipment effectively.
- Read and interpret shop/engineering drawings accurately.
- Possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in a food manufacturing environment, with expertise in Tig welding, Mig/Mag welding, and the ability to determine appropriate welding applications.
- Maintain the cleanliness and integrity of the buildings, including tasks such as installing light bulbs, painting interior or exterior surfaces, performing roof repairs, constructing and demolishing walls, and fulfilling other carpentry duties as required.
- Demonstrate proficiency in using SAP EAM (Enterprise Asset Management) and maintain records in accordance with Aspire Bakeries' policies.
- Complete assigned duties in compliance with quality assurance, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), safety protocols, and other company programs, as well as in alignment with government codes and regulations.
Qualifications:
- Minimum requirement of a high school diploma or GED.
- Technical certification in HVAC, refrigeration, mechanical, electrical, and/or plumbing repair is mandatory.
- Previous experience in a maintenance department, preferably within an automated food processing plant.
- Proficiency in equipment setup, functions, operating procedures, and preventive maintenance techniques.
- Basic understanding of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) is desirable.
- Additional skills and experience in refrigeration, plumbing, industrial electrical and mechanical systems, as well as automated food manufacturing process controls and equipment, are advantageous.
- Ability to read and interpret work orders, operating manuals, and maintenance instructions.
- Capable of comprehending blueprints, logs, and electrical drawings. Competence in completing forms documenting maintenance work performed.
- Working knowledge of spoken Spanish is preferred.
