Safety Manager
Job Description
Schedule M-F 6AM to 4:30PM; Friday’s are usually until 1PM or 2PM if not busy.
- Driving behavioral safety awareness to eliminate injuries
- Performs EHS/ Quality training, including SafeStart/ SafeTrack, Emergency Action Plan drills, New-Hire Orientation, Daily/ Weekly Toolbox Topics and specialized training such as forklifts, aerial lifts, cranes, etc.
- Identifies existing & potential EHS/ Quality problems and participates in developing corrective measures, using 8D Problem Solving Disciplines and 5 Why's Root Cause Analysis
- Ensures compliance with organization & government EHS/ Quality standards (i.e. OSHA, M1003)
- Maintains data in EHS management systems PREMS/ PRACTNET
- Completes reports for submission to EPA, OSHA or other regulatory agencies
- Conducts thorough accident investigations, property damages, with follow up corrective action
- Maintains Quality Systems compliant with M1003
- Performs Final Inspections on products
- Completes Self-Audits, J.S.A’s, P.P.E assessments
- Bachelor's degree in Safety, Environmental Science or related field or equivalent experience with designated responsibilities in the safety/environmental field
- Solid understanding of safety practices and ability to conduct safety training on an ongoing basis
- Must be well versed in OSHA regulations, 5S & continuous improvement/lean manufacturing
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively at all levels, including company management, staff, contractor/vendors, and site personnel
