Summary:

The Aftermarket Engineer will be responsible for the speed, quality and consistency of packaging machinery. The Aftermarket Engineer contributes to cost reduction projects and helps to support both margin and supply continuity initiatives. The Aftermarket Engineer also resolves dealer and customer technical part inquiries, and the engineer supports internal departments, including procurement, quality, customer service and operations.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as the main engineering contact for aftermarket parts, including customers, dealers, marketing, procurement, quality, and inventory management
• Complete engineering change notices and technical drawing revisions related to aftermarket part maintenance.
• Manage part validation projects in support of cost reduction and installation timeline
• Provide troubleshooting for all service requests
• Analyze in-service data to identify need for repairs or changes in product design
• Provide formal technical communication in response to customer requests
• Create comprehensive aftermarket parts bills of materials.
• Assist in warranty and quality investigations as required, performing failure analysis and material analysis
• Identify and communicate potential design, manufacturing, and process improvements to eliminate systemic issues and support of continuous improvement.
• Willingness to travel when necessary up to 30%

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree, preferably in Mechanical Engineering or similar
• 4+ years of machinery experience (packaging machinery experience preferred)
• Strong interpersonal skills including tact, diplomacy, and flexibility to work effectively with senior leadership, staff, and the public
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, machine design and mechanics of materials
• Design for manufacturing and assembly
• Must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Must be able to apply sound judgment and decision-making skills in dealing with a variety of routine issues.
• Ability to prioritize and manage workload to meet customer demands and deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills within all levels of the organization.
