Job Description
Job Title: Human Resources Generalist
As a Human Resources Generalist, you will play a key role in supporting designated locations by performing various human resources duties. This includes talent acquisition, employee engagement, employee relations, payroll and benefits administration, training, and ensuring compliance with employment laws. You will work closely with the Human Resources Manager to maintain a positive work environment and contribute to the overall success of the organization.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organization Leadership, or Psychology required
- 2 years of experience in Human Resources required in manufacturing
- Three years administrative experience with demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
- Good organizational/time management skills and efficient use of computer software
- Decision-making skills, along with the ability to understand pertinent laws, are critical
- Valid driver’s license
- Travel 5-10%
Talent Acquisition:
- Update job descriptions as needed
- Submit and post job requisitions via TMS
- Innovate ideas for new job posting boards and develop applicant pools
- Attend career fairs
- Screen hourly, non-exempt candidates and schedule interviews with hiring managers
- Conduct reference and background investigations
- Schedule and conduct new hire orientation
Employee Engagement:
- Schedule and lead monthly employee engagement committee
- Post human resources updates to Plant communication boards, including electronic screens
- Plan, organize, and direct administration of engagement activities/services
- Organize events such as Service Awards, picnics, newsletters, charity campaigns, and recognition activities
Employee Relations:
- Assist with investigations and employee suggestions/complaints
- Maintain confidentiality in sensitive matters
- Assist with internal and external audits
- Notify leadership of upcoming hourly reviews and ensure timely completion
- Conduct hourly, non-exempt Exit Interviews
- Monitor and maintain employee attendance records
- Notify leadership of attendance corrective actions and track disciplinary actions
Payroll:
- Maintain all hourly personnel files and UltiPro records
- Process bi-weekly payroll for all locations
- Process and submit weekly payroll for temporary staff
- Submit monthly finance and human resource reports
- Submit quarterly Time and Attendance user reports for security access permission
Benefits:
- Administer benefits programs
- Conduct benefit communication programs
- Collect necessary documentation for benefits administration
- Assist with administration of LOA documents
Training and Development:
- Maintain training records
- Assist with training events and scheduling of team members
Other Responsibilities:
- Act as backup for administrative staff within the department
- Assist in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures
- Administer local human resources SharePoint updates
- Participate in developing department goals, objectives, and systems
- Stay abreast of current developments in employee relations and legal requirements
