Quality Engineer
Job Description
- Support all aspects of the Quality Management System (QMS)
- Maintain documentation in compliance with the QMS
- Maintain documentation to support ISO9001: 2015 compliance
- Maintain documentation to support IATF 16949 compliance
- Support capability studies to establish product/process tolerances and standards.
- Lead problem solving (8D) root cause analysis for development of customer complaint and internal plant reject permanent corrective actions
- Lead use of Quality tools for plant performance improvement (PFMEA, Control Plans, Work Instructions, and Visual Standards)
- Support the Plant’s ongoing process audit system
- Maintain records in accordance with the QMS
- Responsible for reporting and maintaining all Quality metrics (Reject, Repair, Customer Complaints, etc.)
- Support initial response and problem solving for customer complaints
- Promote quality achievement and performance improvement throughout the organization.
- Participate in the maintenance and communication of a quality plan to ensure the company’s Quality Systems and Policies follow quality system requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in an applied science or engineering field
- 2-4 years prior experience in Quality/Technical/Engineering with direct Plant responsibilities
- 2-4 years prior experience with ISO9001:2015 and IATF 16949 with direct quality responsibilities supporting these certifications
- Demonstrated exceptional written and oral communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work with customers to resolve complaints
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task and drive projects to completion
- Experience with problem solving tools (8D, MSA, Kaizen, 5 WHY, etc.) preferred
- Experience with PPAP, APQP, PFMEA, SPC, and Control Plans
- Experience with Six Sigma tools (Green belt or Black belt) preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Demonstrated use and proficiency in statistical techniques
- Willingness to continually embrace personal and professional development
