Quality Engineer
Job Description
Location: Near Wheeling, IL
Salary: $80,000 – $95,000/year
Hours: Monday – Friday | Standard business hours
Hire Type: Direct Hire
- Log and track customer complaints; lead containment actions, root cause analysis, and communicate resolutions
- Conduct process audits and Gemba walks to proactively identify and resolve issues
- Support MRB/NCMR activities, including rework approvals and disposition decisions
- Lead structured problem-solving efforts using 8D, DMAIC, and other methodologies
- Facilitate PFMEA sessions and maintain compliance with ISO 9001 and applicable industry standards
- Track APQP/PPAP deliverables and validate process readiness for new product launches
- Partner with suppliers to resolve quality issues and drive corrective actions
- Utilize ERP/MES and QMS systems to analyze data, track COPQ trends, and report on quality performance
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or related field preferred
- 3+ years of quality engineering experience within a manufacturing environment
- 2+ years of customer-facing quality experience
- Strong background in customer complaints, root cause analysis, PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, and MSA
- Experience with Lean and/or Six Sigma methodologies
- Ability to travel up to 10% as needed
